Hello ya'll!
I know I don't really open up here on DA, I'd just rather show you my artwork than talk 'bout myself. But today is different. Not many of you know, that besides creating fanart and sculptures, I'm also a beggining concept artist/illustrator. My biggest dream is to work in the game industry, and until yesterday I've been trying really hard to improve myself, and gain a better skills required for the job.
Yesterday, I took a part in in an event, where I had a chance to talk with experts from game industy, and... I've heard some really harsh and unpleasant opinions about my art. They told me that I don't stand a chance to EVER work in my dream job, and that I should go back to school and learn basic principles of human anatomy, lighting and perspective. I must say, I've left the place with tears in my eyes, and doubts in my heart.
And this is where I want to ask you, fellow watchers for your HONEST opinion. I don't want to hear compliments to make me feel better about myself. I just really want to know if I'm that bad, and if I shouldn't pursue my dreams and focus on something else. Do I even have a potential to become a concept artist? Please, it's really important to me - every feedback counts. Here's the link to my concept art/illustration portfolio:
